Hand 2 Hand is a ministry we are
assisting in partnership with other area
churches. The goal of this mission is to
provide food for children qualified to
receive free and reduced lunches at
school.
To the right is a list of items we always
need!
1 in 4 households with children in
Michigan lacked enough money to buy
food that the family needed in 2009.

We are always on the lookout for new
mentors willing to give an hour a week to a
student at South Elementary School. Our
mentors have been having a wonderful time
getting to know these very special children.
The experience is an amazingly rewarding
one.
If you are interested, contact Sandy Lyon.
Our partnership with Love In the Name of
Christ is very successful. We held a
special breakfast in December for clients
of Love INC.
We are also always collecting For
UCOM (United Church Outreach
Ministry.) There is a box in the
Welcome Center designated for this
purpose. We collect a different type of
item each month.
Above is a link to the Feeding America
website to make a donation for Hand 2
Hand Ministries.
All donations to this site will be deposited
into theHudsonville Congregational United
Church of Christ Hand 2 Hand Ministry
account at Feeding America/West
Michigan. These funds are for the use of
Hudsonville Congregational United Church
of Christ Hand 2 Hand Ministry only and
benefit the children that we service through
our Hand 2 Hand Ministry.
How you can benefit through the following:
Michigan Public Acts 256 and 231 of
1994 reward financial contributions to
Michigan food banks with a 50% State
income tax credit (half your money
back!). Limits: up to a $100 credit ( for a
$200 gift ) for an individual, $200 ( for a
$400 gift ) for a married couple filing
jointly, and for businesses, 5% of the
business’s tax liability before claiming
any other credits, or $5,000, whichever is
less. In addition to the State credit, your
gift to a Michigan food bank should also
qualify for a normal Federal income tax
charitable deduction.
